This conversation will discuss 1970s and contemporary feminist dynamics of politicization. How have forms of (paid and unpaid) work and subaltern bodies of work changed? What does it mean that rebel bodies are again at the center of the violence of financed capitalism? How does this translate both unevenly and in dialogue in Southern and Northern geographies? How can their resistances coordinate themselves politically? How can we think and imagine paid reproductive work when the “patriarchy of the wage” is in crisis? What historical experiences of international feminism do we have to rethink contemporary transborder coordination?

Silvia Federici is an Italo-American writer, activist, and Professor Emerita of Political Philosophy at Hofstra University. In 1972, she co-founded the International Feminist Collective, which launched the international campaign Wages for Housework. She is the author of numerous books about political philosophy, feminist theory, and economy, such as Caliban and the Witch: Women, the Body and Primitive Accumulation (2004), translated into many languages; and Revolution at Point Zero (2012).
