Daniel Alarcón is a novelist, journalist, and co-founder of the Radio Ambulante podcast. He writes about Latin America in The New Yorker magazine and is a professor in the Columbia University School of Journalism. His most recent storybook, The King is Always Above the People, was a finalist for the National Book Award in 2018.
